PM Oli Slams Party Leaders for Backing Opposition, Urges Unity

Kathmandu, April 22: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has voiced his dissatisfaction with party leaders, accusing some of them of indirectly supporting the opposition and weakening internal unity.
Speaking at a program marking the 76th anniversary of the CPN (Maoist), Oli criticized certain party members for echoing opposition narratives. “The opposition attacks in an organized way, and some of our comrades fall into the illusion that protest and chaos are a measure of political strength,” Oli remarked.
He warned party leaders against making mistakes for the sake of opposing figures like Khan, whom he indirectly referenced while condemning actions that harm national unity. “To insult someone like Khan without cause is no example of strength. Those who make such mistakes—those who commit crimes, destroy social order, and weaken the nation—should not be glorified,” he said.
Oli’s remarks come amid increasing internal debates within the party and mounting criticism from the opposition. His speech signals a push for greater discipline and cohesion within the UML ranks.
