BIMSTEC Secretary-General and Kyrgyz Envoy Hold Talks with Foreign Minister Rana Deuba

Kathmandu, May 17: BIMSTEC Secretary-General Indramani Pandey and Kyrgyz Presidential Special Envoy Dinara Kamelova held courtesy meetings with Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba on the sidelines of the Everest Dialogue in Kathmandu.

Secretary-General Pandey met with Minister Rana at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they discussed Nepal’s cooperation with BIMSTEC, particularly in the field of climate change. Minister Rana reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to the objectives and principles of the regional organization.

Later in the day, Minister Rana also met with Kyrgyz envoy Dinara Kamelova at Hotel Solti. She thanked the envoy for Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the Everest Dialogue, and the two discussed enhancing bilateral ties between Nepal and Kyrgyzstan, with emphasis on tourism, agriculture, hydropower, and economic cooperation.

Both meetings highlighted Nepal’s efforts to engage with regional and international partners on key global challenges such as climate change and sustainable development.
