Federal Parliament Convenes Today for Key Budget and Bill Discussions

Kathmandu, June 3: Both houses of Nepal’s Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today for important legislative sessions.

  • The House of Representatives will meet at 11:00 AM, followed by the National Assembly session at 1:15 PM.

Key agendas include:

  • Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel will present a statement on the general discussion of the annual revenue and expenditure estimates for fiscal year 2082/83.
  • Ramhari Khatiwada, Chairman of the State Management and Good Governance Committee, will present the committee’s report on the Federal Civil Service Bill.

In the National Assembly:

  • Finance Minister Poudel will table the Customs Bill, 2080, received from the House of Representatives.
  • Education, Science and Technology Minister Raghuji Pant will move a motion to discuss and agree on the amendment sent by the House regarding the Martyr Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences Bill.

These discussions mark significant steps in shaping Nepal’s fiscal policies and legislative reforms for the upcoming year.
