Kathmandu, June 17: Former US President Donald Trump is reportedly considering whether to bomb an Iranian nuclear enrichment facility, according to a report by the New York Times.

The report suggests that Trump is discussing the possibility of targeting the Fordow nuclear facility in Iran, which is believed to be heavily fortified and located underground.

The New York Times noted that the US military’s largest bunker buster bomb, known as the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), would be required to reach Iran’s underground facility. This bomb is typically deployed using US B-2 bombers.

“If he moves forward with this plan, the United States would become directly involved in a new Middle East conflict and engage in a full-scale war with Iran,” wrote journalists David E. Sanger and Jonathan Swan in the report.

However, the New York Times has clarified that the report is an analysis, not confirmed news. The paper emphasized that these discussions reflect potential strategies but no final decision has been made.
