Nepal Starts ACC U-16 Cricket East Cup with a Win Over Singapore

Kathmandu, June 22: Nepal began the ACC U-16 Cricket East Cup with a victory, defeating Singapore by six wickets in their opening match on Sunday. Nepal is also the defending champion of the tournament.

Chasing Singapore’s target of 139 runs, Nepal comfortably reached the total in 33.4 overs, losing only four wickets. Famous Jaisi was the standout performer for Nepal, scoring an unbeaten 55 runs, while Raunak Srivastava contributed 40 runs. Singapore’s Yuvan Pandey took one wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Singapore opted to bat and managed to score 138 runs in 36.1 overs. Singapore captain Ryan Nayak top-scored with 53 runs, and opener Ahan Bhudhanbham added 38 runs.

Nepal’s bowling attack was led by captain Bipin Sharma, who claimed four wickets. Sachin Bhatta took three wickets, while Shubham Khanal and Abhay Yadav picked up one wicket each.

Nepal’s strong all-round performance signals a promising start to their title defense in the tournament.
