Lalitpur, June 23: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that confused youth slow down national progress and change, urging young people to align with ideology and leadership rather than follow individuals blindly.

Speaking at the second plenary session of the Central Committee of Rastriya Yuva Sangh Nepal, PM Oli emphasized the youth’s pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future and called for a unified plan ahead of the upcoming local elections.

“The Youth Association should stand firm on the party’s guiding principles — social justice, national interest, good governance, and scientific vision,” Oli said. “Don’t follow individuals, follow the right path and right ideas.”

He added that the Rastriya Yuva Sangh should be ideologically strong and ready to resist false propaganda from opponents.

Oli highlighted the past, saying the party collapsed when it lacked leadership, but regained strength after adopting People’s Multi-Party Democracy (JBJ). He urged the youth to foster entrepreneurship, be tolerant, capable, and disciplined, and avoid arrogance or gangster-like behavior.

“True capability lies in humility. A strong youth does not shout slogans of violence but stands firm against injustice,” he said.

Calling the Youth Association the “fortress of people’s dignity,” Oli said it should remain the backbone of social activism and patriotism, playing a central role in defending national values and integrity.
