Kathmandu Municipal Budget to Be Approved in Assembly Meeting on June

Kathmandu, Jul 13: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has scheduled a municipal assembly meeting for June to approve the budget and plans for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. The session will also include a progress review of the ongoing fiscal year 2081/82.

Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) announced that the meeting will be held at 2 PM, in accordance with Sub-section 3 of Article 6 of the Basnegari Municipal Assembly Operation Act 2075. The agenda includes discussions and approvals of the Policy and Programme, the Economic Bill-2082, the Appropriation Bill-2082, and the Budget and Programme for the next fiscal year.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Shah stated, “The review of the current fiscal year and the planning for the upcoming year will be done in reference to March 30, 2012 (Nepali calendar). I hereby call today’s meeting as per the legal provision.”

For the fiscal year 2082/83, the municipality has proposed a total budget of Rs. 25.764341 billion, which will be allocated across various development and administrative priorities for the city.
