950 New Voters Added to Chitwan Election Office

Chitwan, Oct 10: The Election Office in Chitwan has registered 950 new voters since October, as preparations intensify for the upcoming election scheduled for March 7.
According to Office Chief Bhimsen Karki, voter list collection has been taking place outside the office premises due to ongoing repairs of the building damaged during the Gen-G movement. “The number of people registering their names has increased compared to previous years,” he said, adding that most of the new voters are around 25 years old.
Eligible citizens can complete their registration forms online and later visit the office for photographs and biometric verification. The voter list collection process will continue until mid-November.
In the 2079 BS elections, Chitwan had 421,392 registered voters. Officials project that the number will rise to around 450,000 for the upcoming polls.
The Election Commission has already approved the election schedule. As per the plan, political party registration will take place from November 1, returning offices will be set up in January, and the election campaign will run from March 3 to March 6.
