Kathmandu, Nov 9: Afghanistan’s Taliban government has accused Pakistan of causing the failure of recent talks held in Istanbul, alleging the Pakistani delegation attempted to shift full responsibility for Pakistan’s security onto Afghanistan.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that despite the Islamic Emirate’s and mediators’ good intentions, the Pakistani side behaved irresponsibly during negotiations. He stressed that no country would be allowed to use Afghan soil against others, and Afghanistan would protect its sovereignty and security.

Mujahid accused Pakistan of refusing to accept responsibility for Afghan security or for contributing to peace, while demanding security guarantees from Kabul. He reiterated Afghanistan’s willingness to cooperate with the Pakistani people but warned that any attack would be met with full force as part of the Taliban’s national and legal responsibility.
