Norwegian Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Karki, Discusses Bilateral Cooperation

Kathmandu, Jan 28: Norwegian Ambassador Dagny Mios paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki today. During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singhadurbar, the two discussed matters of mutual interest and ongoing cooperation between Nepal and Norway.

On the occasion, Ambassador Mios expressed satisfaction at having Sushila Karki as Nepal’s first female prime minister and voiced confidence that the upcoming elections would be held smoothly under her leadership.

Recalling Norway’s long-standing support to Nepal in areas such as the peace process, constitution drafting, climate action and sustainable development, the ambassador said Norway would continue its cooperation in the coming days as well.

Prime Minister Karki said she came to power under unusual circumstances but assured that the country would gradually return to normalcy and that elections would be held as scheduled. She also thanked Norway and the wider international community for their trust and continued support to Nepal.

This was the first official meeting between Ambassador Mios and Prime Minister Karki after she assumed office.
