South Africa Thrash India by 76 Runs in Super 8 Clash
Kathmandu, Feb 23: South Africa secured a dominant 76-run victory over India in the Super 8 match of the ongoing T20 World Cup being held in India and Sri Lanka.
Chasing a target of 188 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India were bowled out for 111 runs in 18.5 overs.
Shivam Dube was the top scorer for India with 42 runs off 37 balls. Opener Abhishek Sharma managed 15 runs, while captain Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya contributed 18 runs each.
South Africa’s bowling attack proved decisive, with Marco Jansen claiming four wickets and Keshav Maharaj taking three wickets.
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Africa posted 187 runs for the loss of seven wickets, setting up a commanding total that ultimately proved beyond India’s reach.
