Protests Held Across US Cities Against US-Israel Attack on Iran
Agency, March 8: Demonstrations have been held in New York and other US cities protesting the US-Israeli attack on Iran and calling for an immediate ceasefire.
In Manhattan’s Union Square, thousands of protesters gathered holding placards reading “Stop the war on Iran” and “Hands off Iran.” The demonstrators urged the government to halt military action against Iran.
A protester named Adriana said she hoped the international community would pressure Israel and the United States to stop the war, adding that the conflict has already caused significant economic damage.
The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28, pushing the already tense Middle East into a new phase of violence.
Iran has responded with a series of counterattacks targeting US-related interests in Israel and across the region.
According to Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irani, at least 1,332 Iranian civilians, including women and children, have been killed and thousands injured in the US-Israeli airstrikes. (CCTV Plus)
