Kathmandu. Minister of Foreign Affairs and government spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has warned that the government may enforce lockdown again. The recent outburst of corona cases has made the government rethink about the leniency practiced in public movement currently.

In a regular press meet on Sunday, while making the government decisions public, Minister Gyawali said that the government is requesting the citizens to follow health safety guidelines, flouting of which may result in another injunction.

He underscored that the situation has become dreadful. “Citizens must be sensitive regarding the present COVID-19 scenario and comply to the guidelines issued by the government; otherwise, the government will be forced to use stringent measures,” the minister added.

“Kathandu Valley is at a grave risk as it alone accounts for 60 percent of the infection,” Minister Gyawali said. “We request you not to gather in hordes in the upcoming festivals of Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.”

The government has been requesting people to remain and celebrate Dashai in the same place as one currently is rather than going to their hometowns. The number of returnees, however, is increasing every day. 107 thousand corona positive cases have been registered in the country till date.
