Kathmandu. The suspension of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) DSP Angur GC has been revoked. He had been suspended in connection with the investigation of rape and murder case of Nirmala Panta in Kanchanpur.

Spokesperson for Nepal Police SSP Kuber Kadayat confirmed about the letter of revocation of suspension having been sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Nepal Police Headquarters. “The letter has been received. He (GC) can join his duty now,” Kadayat told DCNepal.

The amendments in the Nepal Police Act made a few days ago by the Council of Ministers had  paved way for revocation of suspension of DSP GC.

DSP GC, DSP Gyan Bahadur Sethi, Inspectors Jagadish Bhatta and Ekendra Khadka and Sub Inspector Ram Singh Dhami, had been suspended, relating to the case. Sub Inspector Dhami will receive his revocation orders from the district, as informed by spokesperson Kadayat.  Sethi and Khadka have already retired.

In the rape and murder case of Nirmala Panta, the suspended police personnel were  accused of destroying the evidence. The Kanchanpur District Court had declared them not guilty, but the Nepal Police Act prevented their revocation of suspension. The Cabinet made amendments in the Nepal Police Act on September 24.

The culprits are still at large and the voices for justice for Nirmala are still heard, though muffled.
