How did China contain coronavirus? – A youth stuck in Wuhan for 141 days answers the question
Kathmandu. The world still has been struggling to tackle the effects of coronavirus. But the first country to be affected by the virus, China, has been successful in containing the virus.
Xi Lu, a 31-year-old man was stuck in Wuhan when the coronavirus pandemic was at its peak in China. He had returned home from London to visit his family. In an article in The Sun, he has mentioned the strategies that China applied to contain the virus. He said that the citizens were quite obedient to the orders given by the government. While the world was focusing on issues such as restrictions and freedom, Lu said that the Chinese people understood that- ‘there will be no human rights if nobody will be alive’.
There was a strict 76-day lockdown in Wuhan and people abided by the government instructions. They wore masks and went out only to buy necessary commodities. Lu explained, “In China if there is a rule, we follow the rule. If we see somebody not following the rules, we don’t need to punish them, we need to make sure they are aware of their violations against the rules.” He further warned that if the anti-vaccine and anti-mask movements further escalates, the world witness a third wave of the pandemic as well.
Xi visited China in January this year and was stuck there for 141 days in Wuhan. He had been working in London for the past seven years.
