Another month-long lockdown order in the United Kingdom
London. At a news conference on Saturday, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a new lockdown. He issued an order that didn’t allow more than six people from gathering in public places at once across the UK.
As per his order, discos, pubs, restaurants, gymnasiums and other shops, except extremely essential ones, will be closed starting from November 5. People will have to strictly stay at home unless they have to go to work. The lockdown order was issued after the spread of the coronavirus became rapid. Most of Europe is facing the second-wave of the pandemic.
According to the BBC, the new lockdown has been planned to last for a month. However, this restriction will not be applicable to schools, and universities. Gatherings either inside the home or even in the home garden are strictly prohibited. The Prime Minister stated that he hoped to bring coronavirus under control by Christmas, later this year, adding that the lockdown would help create an atmosphere conducive to family reunions during Christmas. Johnson urged citizens to carefully abide by the lockdown alongside a grave warning mentioning that, “Doctors and nurses will be forced to choose which patients to treat, who will get oxygen and who will not, who will live and who will die.”
