Nepal bags two golds in Virtual Karate World Championship
Kathmandu. Nepali players Nita Acharya and Sonim Manandhar have made Nepal proud winning two golds in the Virtual Karate World Championship organized by National Karate of Brazil. Nepal has received additional one silver and seven bronzes in the two-day event.
According to coach Rabindra Manandhar, Acharya defeated her Brazilian opponent receiving 24.70 points in the online kata championship for female players between 13 to 21 years. Indonesia and India shared the third place. Similarly in the men’s competition, Nepal’s Manandhar got 24.96 points and clinched the gold defeating his Indian opponent. Players from Cuba and Brazil shared the third slot.
Nepal’s Sanju Deshar bagged the silver with 25.31 points in the women’s 14-15 year category, whereas, Indonesia won the gold by a meager margin, garnering.25.35 points.
Nepal’s Satkar Gharti Magar, Dpika Sapkota, Anubha Mangati, Misli Shrestha, Raj Kumar Shrestha and Rabindra Manandhar won the bronze in different categories.
