Kathmandu Valley mayors suggest a stringent injunction to contain COVID-19
Kathmandu. The mayors of Kathmandu Valley have suggested for a stricter prohibitory order to contain the rapid spread of the corona infection in the valley. The mayors of the valley have shared their opinion during a meeting with the coordinator of the Direction Committee of COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) and Deputy-Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel
Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha, who is also the secretary of of Municipal Mayor Forum, Kathmandu, informed that the meeting was focused on the rise of corona infection and the steps to prevent and control the disease.
The mayors have also planned to take necessary effective steps to break the chain of corona infection after Tihar and Chhath festivals. They stressed that an inflexible injunction was the need at present to slower the rate of infection and break the chain. Mayor Shrestha added that the CCMC officials have told to discuss on the modality of the prohibition in the next meeting.
The meeting of the municipal and CCMC officials also discussed on the problems created by COVID-19, Shrestha said.
