Scientists build plasma to kill coronavirus in 30 seconds
Kathmandu. Scientists have developed a device called a ‘plasma jet’ that can kill coronavirus in 30 seconds. Researchers have developed a spray of pressure plasma jets from a 3D printer that has been used successfully, according to a report published in the Daily Mail.
Richard E. Wirz, author of the study, said “This is only the beginning. We are very confident and have very high expectations for plasma in future work. In the future, a lot of answers for the scientific community will come from plasma.” The research suggests that plasma jets could play a key role in the fight against coronavirus.
According to the scientists at the University of California, Los Angeles, the plasma jet can kill the coronavirus on metal, skin and plastic surfaces in 30 seconds. The spray was used on leather, plastic, metal, basketball, baseball and football surfaces in which it was found that it could decontaminate the surface. It was also highlighted, in another testing, that similar results were witnessed on the cotton used for face masks, as well.
The study, published in the journal ‘Physics of Fluids’, lists plasma jets as one of the four basic principles against coronavirus. It can be made by heating a stationary gas or exposing it to an electromagnetic field.
