Ruling party BJP disagrees to abolish new farming laws in India

Kathmandu, December 23. Ruling Party in India, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied to abolish the farming laws in India, for which farmers have been protesting for weeks.

Gopal Krishna Agarwal, spokesman for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), told the Reuters, “There’s no question of repealing from the government’s side. We have ample support from many farmers’ organisations. Without private investments, agriculture income won’t be able to grow.”

However, an article in Al Jazeera, mentions that the government has offered to amend the laws and given a written assurance to the farmers that they will continue to get a guaranteed minimum price for their grains at state markets as well.
