Domestic flights resuming operations from today

Kathmandu. Regular domestic flights are to resume operations from Monday (today) after a disruption of about six months due to the ongoing covid pandemic.

The flights are being resumed after setting special health standards. The Cvil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has permitted 9 airlines for operations in Kathmandu and airports all over Nepal.

CAAN has allowed for 54 flight operations on the first day from Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Surkhet. For the second day, a total of 54 flight permissions have been issued with Buddha Air being authorized for 17 flights, Yeti Air 11, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) 8. Shree Airlines 6, Tara Air 5, Summit Air 4, Sita Air 2 and Simrik Air 1.

The domestic flights will carry passengers at full capacity, however only 25 percent of the total normal daily flight operations are being made, following health protocols. Passengers have to fill a health form and furnish document proving their being not infected with COVID-19.
