Eleven people shot dead in a Mexican restaurant
Mexico. At least 11 people were killed in a gun violence at a restaurant in Mexico’s central region of Guanajuato on Sunday morning.
According to local media, the gunmen who went to the restaurant opened fire on the guests and employees of the restaurant. The gunmen had arrived on motorcycles, they barged in indiscriminately fired inside the restaurant. Seven men and four women were killed in the violence. Some employees of the restaurant were also reported injured.
The city of Guanajuato is mainly inhabited by people working in agriculture. The city has been plagued by violence for some time. It is said that hundreds of civilians are killed every year in the violence amidst such attacks. It is unknown at this time about what might have been the cause. Police confirmed that an investigation had begun soon after the incident.
