Complaint filed against Professor Khagendra Luitel for contempt of court

Kathmandu. A complaint has been filed in Supreme Court against Khagendra Luitel, a professor at Tribhuvan University Central Campus, Kirtipur. The complaint was filed against him on 28th September by Mukunda Prasad Bhattarai, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, ward number 32.

Bhattarai has complained that Professor Luitel has been spreading various rumors among the public regarding the judges and chief justice of Nepal. He has said that Luitel has been defaming the judges and the chief justice claiming that they give unconstitutional decisions and have labeled the team of chief justice corrupt.

The complainant says that Prof Luitel has spread negativity against the court, judges and chief Justice. In a case numbered ‘WO20554’ filed by Bharat Kumar Basnet, with the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers as defendants, Prof Luitel had spoken ill about the writ of certiorari and mandamus. Bhattarai also claimed that Luitel used inappropriate and appalling language and words against the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the case of a YouTube channel named ‘Everest Nepal Online’.
