MCU updates: Release dates postponed due to global pandemic

Kathmandu. The coronavirus pandemic has affected the whole world in various ways. Marvel Studios had previously planned to begin its Phase 4 this year with a number of movies that were stacked for world-wide releases. However, all the dates have been pushed forward, as current situations have not been considered conducive for such large-scale releases.

‘Black Widow’, one of the much anticipated movies that will be marking the beginning of Phase 4 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been postponed to May 7, 2021. The movie has Scarlett Johansson in the titular role, along with Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, David Harbor and O. T. Fagbenle. Similarly, ‘Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ that was set to release on 7th May 2021 has been further pushed to 9th July 2021.

Another movie from MCU, ‘Eternals’ that was set to release on 6th November 2020 will now release on 12th February 2021. Tom Holland starrer ‘Spiderman 3’, which was to be released on 16th July 2021, has been moved December next year. ‘Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch is now set to release in early 2022.
