Nepal Telecom towers being installed in Chhangru and Syaukhani of Darchula

Darchula. Nepal Telecom (NT), the state-owned telecom provider, is installing telephone towers in Syaukhani of Api Himal Rural Municipality and Chhangru of Vyaas Rural Municipality. Both these villages are considered to be the remotest places of Darchula District.

Some villages of ward no. 3 of Api Himal Rural Municipality were beyond communication reach although ward no. 4 of the same village had a telephone tower. This remote region observes the famous Kshatti Jatra and lack of communication has added to the troubles of the people.

“Works are being carried to link the villagers with others through communication. The telephone towers are being constructed in a rapid pace.” chair of Api Himal Dharmananda Manyal said.

A telephone tower is being erected for Sitola region of Api Himal ward no. 6 too, which would link the whole village to the communication network. The communication facility is expected to boost the tourism of this region. Initiations from Member of Parliament Ganesh Singh Thagunna and Mayor Manyal have helped expedite the construction and installation, the rural municipality informs.

The establishment of the company of Armed Police Force  in Chhangru of Vyaas Rural Municipality has made it necessary for the installation of a NT tower to operate the Namaste sim service of NT. A building has already been constructed  to house the tower.

Mayor Dilip Singh Budhathoki said that he has requested Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta of the Far West Province for the operation of the Namaste service before Tihar. “I have also demanded to upgrade the service to 4G,” he added.
