Kathmandu. Dr Govind KC is ending his hunger strike today. Dr Pritam Subedi, who has been assisting Dr KC, told DC Nepal that Dr KC is breaking his fast at 9:30 am on Sunday after he reached an eight-point agreement with the government at midnight on Saturday.
Dr KC had started the fast from Jumla making a six-point demand,. His demands included establishing at least one state-run hospital in each province of the nation and that seniority should be the basis on the appointment of Institute of Medicine (IOM) dean.
The consensus was reached on Saturday, the 28th day of his fast-until- death. It has not been finalized yet as to from whose hand he will take the juice and break his fast.
