Proposal to close government offices from Ghatsathapna to Purnima in the offing

Kathmandu. The government has planned to close all government offices from Ghatasthapana to Purnma as the corona infection graph is rising beyond control. The meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMChas emphasized on the closure of all government offices from Ghatasthapana, the first day of Dashain, it is learned.

The CCMC proposes to suggest the government to prolong the Dashain holidays as cases of infection among government employees has risen alarmingly and that the risk of infection would increase with them serving in the offices for a longer period. All services, except the extremely necessary ones, will be halted during the 15 days of the Dashain festival, as per the proposal.

News source informs that the CCMC will hold a meeting on Sunday and propose the modality to tackle the pandemic to the government which would most probably be passed by the Cabinet meeting on Monday.

In the CCMC meeting on Saturday, Nepal Army delivered a presentation on the causes of the rapid spread of corona infection. Nepal Army concluded that the improper slackening and haphazard termination of lockdown has led to the present COVID-19 explosion. The army is in favor of another lockdown and Minister of Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa is affirmative about the opinion, source claims.
