Ex-King Gyanendra concerned over lack of guardianship for Nepali people
Kathmandu. In his message of Dashain greetings on Thursday, former King Gyanendra Shah has expressed his deep regret over Nepali people having to suffer the lack of guardianship
Shah said, ”The ability and mettle of the guardian is assessed at the time of crisis. Looking from that perspective, it seems the Nepali people have been orphaned and are without a caretaker at present.”
Pointing at the government indirectly, Shah has told that the responsible party has not been able to work in the direction to ease citizens’ life and make them feel secure after the natural disasters they have faced this year.
“The hardships and problems of the people have increased. The government must strive to improve the quality of life of the people. All must have the self realization that a state stands for its citizens, and politics exists only because of them,” he underscored in his statement.
The former king noted that the migrant workers are facing troubles and there are no strategies for the utilization of their skills and abilities in the country. He also mentioned the sorrowful plight of those returning to foreign land as they have not been able to find means to sustain themselves and their families, though they had come for the love of their country and family. The sufferings of the people due to price hikes of daily goods and increase in criminal activities have also got place in the former king’s message. People want release from all such evils, his statement reads.
