Former Principal Secretary of the Royal Palace Khanal passes away

Kathmandu. Former Principal Secretary in the then Royal Palace Service, Rewati Raman Khanal, 88, died at his residence in Kalimati, Kathmandu.

Khanal suffered from diabetes and asthma and had been receiving treatment at his house, said Suraj Khanal, one of late Khanal’s relatives.

A law expert and litterateur, Khanal has, among many law books — ‘Muluki Ain, Kehi Bibechana (The Civil Code, Some Critiques)’, ‘Kar Sambandhi Kanoon (Laws Related to Tax)’, and ‘Nepalko Kanooni Itihaasko Ruparekha (An Outline of Legal History of Nepal)’ — to his credit.

Khanal, born in Tanahu district, served in the then Royal Palace Service for 35 years. His last rites would be performed at Devghat in Tanahu.
