Four people arrested in Banke with red panda hide

Banke.  Lal Bahadur Nepali, Ganesh Nepali, Umesh Bahadur Thapa and Dinesh Karki have been arrested by District Police Office Banke today while trying to sell the hide of red panda, an endangered species. The police has confiscated the red panda hide they had for sale.

The accused  were arrested from the New Rapti Guest House at Kohalpur where a team of policemen had reached in plain clothes after receiving information about the dealing being carried there. The police, pretending as buyers, then nabbed the four, who were trying to sell the forbidden item.

Spokesperson for the District Police Office, DSP Subhash Khadka, confirmed the report and said that similar case had taken place in the district on September.
