Three arrested with 10 million rupees

Kathmandu. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested three hundi dealers with 1o million rupees. Practise of Hundi is illegal as the money exchange takes place outside the banking channels.

According to CIB Chief DIG Sahakul Thapa, Vikas Mittal and Kamal Mittal of Jhapa and Ganesh Poudel of Parbat have been arrested from Ombahal in Kathmandu where they run a shop selling various parts of mobiles also apparently involved in hundi transactions.

The Mittals owned the shop where they had Ganesh Poudel to work for them. According to DIG Thapa, the police had been able to recover NRS 9 million 984 thousand and 800 US dollars from Mittal’s shop. The arrested have not been able to justify any source of that amount.
