Government to introduce a new Strategy for COVID-19 response

Kathmandu. Under the coordination of the Deputy Prime Minister, Ishwar Pokhrel, a meeting is scheduled on Sunday at the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) to discuss issues related with the prevention and control of the COVID infection, including the Supreme Court’s order regarding the free treatment of the infected individuals.

According to the Mayor of Kathmandu Municipal Corporation, Bidya Sundar Shakya, the number of COVID- 19 cases in Nepal is approaching 200,000, in response to which the government expects to adopt a new policy for the prevention, control and treatment of corona disease

Shakya also said that there is no problem regarding the isolation of patients as the isolation centres in the valley still have a lot of space.

Today’s Gorkhapatra daily reports that more than 15,000 infected individuals in Kathmandu valley are staying in home isolation.
