Nepal bags Gold in the First Online International Virtual Taekwondo Championship

Kathmandu.  Ayush Dhungel, of Nepalese Taekwondo Academy (NTA) has won gold in the Under-14 male singles category of the First Online International Virtual  Taekwondo Championship. Brazil bagged silver whereas Uruguay and Argentina bagged bronze

A judge of the champion, NTA President Ashok Khadka informed that 38 athletes from different countries participated in the match played by Ayush. The results of the rest of the matches will be released tomorrow.

Ayush has won a total of 6 medals in various domestic and international competitions held during the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, He has previously won 2 gold and 1 silver medals in virtual competition in USA, Malaysia and Thailand. He has also won 2 golds in domestic virtual competitions as well.

At present, Kathmandu International Virtual Taekwondo Poomsae Championship is also being held in which  362 players, from 19 countries, including 190 players from Nepal are playing.
