Kathmandu. State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the Federal Parliament of Nepal has instructed the government not to implement the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the formal name of the country.

The meeting of the committee held on Monday has directed the government to withhold the decision made on September 27. Earlier, on September 27, the Council of Ministers had decided to change the formal name of the country to ‘Nepal’ in place of ‘Federal Democratic Republic Nepal’ so as to maintain uniformity.
