Ministry of Labor instructed to look into the Qatar syndicate case

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security has been instructed to investigate into the monopoly of a syndicate created by manpower companies in recruitment of workers for Qatar. The Industry, Commerce, Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee of the Parliament has given the ministry the instruction to investigate the case regarding the syndicate.

A meeting was called after a complaint alleging the monopoly of the syndicate formed by 17 manpower companies was received by the committee. The meeting on Monday called on the Labor Ministry to look into the case.

The committee has directed the ministry to seek clarification, examine and investigate the case  and submit the prepared report to the committee within a week

The complaint says that the Embassy of Qatar in Kathmandu and the Qatar Visa Center have formed a syndicate selecting 17 manpower companies. Nepali foreign employment agents have demanded to seek the truth behind the case.
