Kathmandu. Chair of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’  has had a secret meeting with Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Tuesday evening. At a time when things look messy inside the ruling party, Chair Prachanda’s off-the-record meeting with the Indian ambassador has raised many eyebrows.

The residence of Chair Prachandna’s house owner Sharada Prasad Adhikari’s had been chosen for the rendezvous which lasted for about an hour, after six in the evening, the news source informed.. Similar covert meeting of another Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli with chief of Indian intelligence agency RAW had been condemned within the party earlier and leaders have demanded to discuss the topic calling the secretariat meeting at the earliest. The issue of secretariat meeting has led even to rumors of party split.

Prachanda’s secretariat, however, has denied the meeting. Prachanda’s press coordinator Bishnu Sapkota ‘Jugal’ told DCNepal, that the chair met nobody after  the meeting at the secretariat yesterday.

Prachanda had been very active on Tuesday. He discussed with senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha at Khumaltar and later with five members of the secretariat at Dhumbarahi. He had then met his fellow Chair Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Baluwatar.

After the Baluwatar meeting, Prachanda had again talked with the five secretariat members — senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal, Deputy chair Bam Dev Gautam and  Narayan Kaji Shrestha — at Dhumbarahi, in which he informed the meeting participants that PM KP Sharma Oli had not agreed upon his proposal to call a secretariat meeting for November 12.

It has been learnt that Prachanda met the Indian ambassador to Nepal after the second meeting with the secretariat members.
