Probe committee formed to investigate the Qatar foreign employment syndicate case

Kathmandu. A committee has been formed to investigate the alleged syndicate formation and monopoly in the Qatar recruitment case. To look into the matter, a five-member committee under Kumar Dahal, Director of Foreign Employment, Department of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security has been set up.

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security had formed the probe committee after the Industry, Commerce, Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee of the Parliament had instructed to investigate the case regarding the syndicate in recruitment of workers for Qatar.

”A committee has been created to find the truth behind the allegation of the syndicate created by manpower companies in foreign employment in Qatar,” Director of Foreign Employment Department Kumar Dahal told DCNepal. “The committee will examine the matter and submit the report within seven days.” The committee has already started its investigation from today, he said.

A meeting was called by the Industry, Commerce, Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee of the Parliament after a complaint regarding the monopoly of the syndicate formed by 17 manpower companies was received by the committee. The meeting on Monday called on the Labor Ministry to look into the case and directed the ministry to examine and investigate the case and submit the report to the committee within a week

Nepali foreign employment agents have demanded to seek the truth behind the formation of syndicate by the 17 manpower companies selected by the Embassy of Qatar in Kathmandu and the Qatar Visa Center.
