Rs 700 million bribery case: Bijay Mishra responds in court

Kathmandu. Bijay Prakash Mishra, who publicized the audio of the Former Minister of Communications and Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota seeking a bribe of Rs. 700 million, has responded to the District Court, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Baskota, who resigned as a Minister after the audio was made public had filed a case in the district court against Mishra for insulting him by publicizing the audio, recording it non-consensually as well as tampering with the recorded material. Mishra, who currently is in Japan, filed a response to the same issue in the court on Tuesday through his representative Azad Karki, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Ward No. 12.

Along with the response, they have attached various pieces of evidence regarding the issue confirming Baskota’s fraud. He claimed that a corruption of Rs. 14 billion was planned in the purchase of security print and that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was also involved in it.
