22 players summoned by CAN for closed-camp training

Kathmandu. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has called up 22 players for a closed-camp training. CAN issued a notice to that effect on Friday.

CAN has summoned Gyanendra Malla (captain), Dipendra Singh Airee (vice-captain), Paras Khadka, Sharad Vesawkar, Sandeep Lamichhane, Karan KC, Basanta Regmi, Binod Bhandari, Sompal Kami, Sushan Bhari Shrestha, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Aarif Sheikh, Pawan Sarraf, Abinash Bohora, Subash Khakurel, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Kushal Malla, Rashid Khan, Kamal Singh Airee, Sandeep Jora, Kishor Mahato and Bhuwan Karki for the closed-camp training.

The closed-camp will begin at the TU grounds from November 25. CAN said all players and coach Jagat Tamtata will have to undergo PCR tests.  CAN will only involve those players who return negative in their COVID-29 tests in the training.

The Nepali cricketers had trained in groups on their own during the eight months of lockdown. It is the first time after the beginning of the pandemic that they are training as a team. It has also been learnt that CAN is planning to organize Prime Minister Cup One Day national cricket tournament soon, coordinating with the Sports Ministry and National Sports Council.
