Demonstration at Maitighar Mandala alleging China of border encroachment
Kathmandu. Some youths have demonstrated at the Maitighr Mandala in Kathmandu on Saturday against the alleged encroachment of Nepali land by China.
The government has already denied any such claims of territorial dispute between Nepal and China. The report presented to the Nepali Congress (NC) central office by the team of NC Member of Provincial Assembly from Karnali Province,Jivan Bahadur Shahi, after making a visit to Namkha Rural Municipality region of Humla , however, shows that China has entered into Nepal’s territory.
Later, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu had sent a protest letter to the NC refuting the claims made by the Shahi report. Global Times, the state media of China, also asserted that the NC, along with the Indians, has tried to raise a baseless issue accusing China.
NC responded by making a central committee decision objecting against the letter of the Chinese Embassy and the news in the Global Times. Youths of Humla in Kathmandu had demonstrated drawing attention of the government to the issue.
