Kathmandu. Indian players have been fined for going against the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules in their first one-day match against Australia. The Indian team has to pay 20 percent of the match fee, ICC informed.

Match referee David Boon slapped the fine on India after India maintained a slow over-rate in the match played in Sydney on Friday. As per the rule of the ICC, if a team carries slow bowling overs, it will be fined 20 percent of the match fee per over that is missed during the allotted time.

ICC is not taking any further action as Indian skipper Virat Kohli has accepted the fault and his team is willing to pay the fine. India had lost the  first ODI against Australia in Sydney by 66 runs. India is scheduled to play one-day, tests and T20 matches against Australia during their visit.
