NASA to ignite its most powerful megarocket

Kathmandu, January 13. National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) is finally conducting the long-awaited hot-fire engine test of its most powerful mega-rocket on January 16.

According to the official media statement, the test-ignition of the four main engines of its first Space Launch System(SLS) Heavy lift booster is the final stage of the “Green Run Test Series”. 

If SLS passes the test, then it will soon fly on its first non-human mission “Artemis 1” with the Orion Spacecraft on its back. Under the Artemis program, NASA aims to ensure a permanent human presence on the moon over the next decade. For which, NASA is eager to learn about the presence of water on the moon. 

The test will be conducted at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, USA.
