Pakistan-Russia Foreign Ministers holds talks

Kathmandu, April 7. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has held talks with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday.
The talks focused on strengthening bilateral economic and defense ties along with discussing the Afghan peace process. Lavrov is the first foreign minister from Russia to visit Pakistan since 2012.

Officials have said that there will be in-depth discussions for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Lavrov is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan. He is also expected to call on PM Imran Khan and visit other dignitaries including the army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The statement from the Russian foreign ministry also states that Pakistan is an important foreign policy partner and the two countries have always maintained fruitful relations in international platforms that includes the UN.
