Kathmandu, June 17. As flood-fed Kaligandaki is washing away the embankment, Myagdi district headquarters, Beni Bazaar, has been at high risk of erosion.

About 30 meters of land near the Kalipur Bus Park has been washed away by the flooded Kaligandaki River, causing erosion to shift towards the market area.

Thakur Sharma, Chair of the Campus Chowk Tole Sudhar Samiti, said that If the flood is not brought under control quickly, it will inflict more damage to Beni Bazaar.

The Rupatal Integrated Development Project is currently constructing cemented and gabion walls on the edges of Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers.

Beni Bazaar is home to 1,000 families.
