Kathmandu, July 6. On Monday, the District Administration Offices in the three districts of Kathmandu valley decided to extend the lockdown for a week.

According to the official statement, the prohibitory orders shall be effective till midnight of July 15, Thursday.

Road Traffic

Recent guidelines discard the odd-even pattern in the movement of traffic. Private vehicles are allowed to move freely, however, the government requests the public to avoid unnecessary movements. 

Public vehicles can carry passengers at full capacity, but they are not allowed to carry passengers more than their bearing capacity. They will also have to isolate the driver’s cabin with plastic sheets so that the possibility of transmission of the virus is prevented. They will also have to provide sanitizers/disinfectants to the passengers. 

Vehicles willing to enter the valley should have a permit certificate issued from their respective local administration.

Businesses

The majority of the businesses are allowed to operate every day till 6 pm. Selected entertainment sector businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops, swimming pools, fitness halls, and salons are allowed to operate. Takeaway and home delivery services from restaurants are allowed till 7:00 pm.

Seminar and Cinema halls, as well as party palaces, are not allowed to operate. The government urges the public to avoid crowded environments.
