Kathmandu, January 28. The White House has requested that the UN Security Council hold an urgent open meeting on Monday to discuss the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Through an official statement on Thursday, Biden’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that nearly 1,00,000 Russian troops are deployed along the Ukrainian border, which clearly indicates that the giant power is posing a clear threat to international peace and security.

“This is not a moment to wait and see. The council’s full attention is needed now, and we look forward to direct and purposeful discussion on Monday.” Greenfield added.

Media reports also claim that during a telephone conversation with Ukraine’s president, US President Joe Biden warned that there is a “possibility” that Russia may strike Ukraine in February.
