German President Steinmeier at Poland with Ukraine issue as main agenda

Kathmandu, April 12. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived at Poland on Tuesday, with Ukraine being the prime issue of discussion.

The visit was scheduled in March, but was postponed due to covid detection in Steinmeier’s wife.

Moreover, the visit is said to demonstrate that Germany and Poland stand firm on the side of Ukraine, post invasion by Russia.

Steinmeier and wife, Elke Büdenbender was received by Polish president, Andrzej Duda. They are scheduled to visit Ukrainian refugees as Poland has welcomed over 2.6 million refugees post the invasion.

Further, three German Member of Parliament have headed to the Ukrainian-Polish border to meet representatives from Kyviv.
