Kathmandu, April 16. Kyiv’s regional police force chief Andriy Nebytov on Friday claimed that more than 900 dead bodies had been discovered in and around the capital city.

The claims were made about a week after Russia withdrew its troops from Kyiv and Chernihiv.

Nebytov further revealed that 95% of the dead bodies had gunshot wounds. “People were simply executed on the streets,” Nebytov told local journalists.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the northern city of Bucha had the highest number of casualties, with about 350 people killed.

Russian troops in Bucha were ‘tracking down anyone who showed strong pro-Ukraine views,’ Nebytov added.

Russia-Ukraine war bringing crisis to poor countries

The Russia-Ukraine war which began on February 24, has already seen 41 thousand deaths. Media reports suggest that nearly 11 million people have been displaced from their homes.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently indicated that the war between the two countries has planted seeds for political instability around the world. ‘The skyrocketing prices of fuel, fertilizers, and grains have severely affected developing countries around the world,’ Guterres noted.
