Ruling alliance wins 25 seats in HoR, UML eight

Kathmandu, November 25. The ruling alliance won 25 districts in elections for members of the House of Representatives (HoR).

According to the Election Commission, UML won in eight districts and Rastriya Prajatantra Party won from one district. Some leaders contested out of their home district and managed to win. Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN (Unified Socialist) central member Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Nepali Congress leaders Pradeep Poudel and Bir Bahadur Balayar and Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Rabi Lamichhane managed to win in aforementioned situation.

Moreover, UML chair KP Sharma Oli, Maoist deputy general secretary Barshman Pun and Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Rabi Lamichhane managed to win with a large margin of over 25 thousand votes than their nearest competitor.

While the results show low number of women winning seats at 5; candidates winning from Madhesh stands at 11.
