Pakistani Army conducts anti terrorist operation in Bannu

Kathmandu, January 1. The Pakistani Army on Saturday evening conducted a military operation against a terrorist group in the Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
On Sunday, Army’s media department ‘Inter-Services of Public Relations (ISPR)’ confirmed that the special troop killed four terrorists in Jani Khel of Bannu. One security personnel died during the firefight.
‘After an intense exchange of fire, ammunition and weapons were recovered on the four assailants who were killed,’ ISPR told local newspapers. The security force also initiated a search and cleansing operation to eliminate any other terrorists.
The operation was conducted based on an intelligence tip that indicated the presence of an overpowered terrorist of the Pakistani Taliban (PTT) in the Bannu area. For a couple of weeks, the terrorist groups were attacking police forces and the civil population in the area.
